Small Group Questions | Week 2

1. What’s something you’ve bought recently that made you realize how much we value material possessions? How does this reflect our natural tendency to take rather than give?

2. The boy who gave his five loaves and two fish saw them multiplied to feed thousands. What does this story teach us about the power of giving, no matter how small?

3. Why do you think Jesus emphasised storing treasures in Heaven over treasures on Earth? How does this challenge our culture of consumerism and hoarding?

4. Why do you think God calls us to sacrifice and give? How does this reflect His nature, and how can we practice this in daily life?

5. Have you ever felt trapped in the scarcity cycle (consume, lack, fear)? What steps can you take to shift to an abundance mindset and trust in God’s provision?

6. The disciples doubted they could meet the need with the resources they had. Can you share a time when you doubted your ability to make a difference? How did God show up in that situation?

7. How do you decide what to give or who to help? Are there ways in which your "guest list" reflects a desire for personal benefit rather than sacrificial love?

8. What would it look like for you to trust God with a "sack lunch" of your own? What’s one small thing you could give this week to bless someone else?

9. Imagine the impact if every believer embraced generosity like the boy in the story. How would your family, church, or community change if generosity became a defining trait?

10. Reflect on Malachi 3:10. What’s one area in your life where you can test God’s faithfulness in giving? How might taking this step deepen your faith and expand your trust in Him?
