Sermon Series Circle The Wagons Week 1 - The Menace, Myth & Mayhem of Autonomy

In the old west, wagon trains would have to circle the wagons in order to protect each other from outside attacks. We are part of a unique team as Christ-followers.   How do we protect ourselves from the influence of the world in today’s culture?
What does it mean to
be a full-devoted follower at One Life Church?

Autonomy looks appealing on the surface. After all, having the freedom to do what you want to do is viewed as living successfully. But you were made for something better than that.

Small Group Questions

  1. What do you hope people will say when they tell your life story?

  2. How is seeking to live autonomously or isolated affecting you now and the story you desire to share later?

  3. Read 2 Samuel 11:1–4. What stands out to you in these verses?

  4. How many people know you completely? How difficult is it to let people know the real you?

  5. Knowing your weaknesses, what might an authentic community save you from?

You weren’t created for autonomy. You were created for the community.
